Chile Pequin

Chile Pequin (Capsicum annuum) is a resilient deciduous Texas perennial native across the East Central Texas Plains, Edwards Plateau, Gulf Coast Prairies and Marshes, Southern Texas Plains, and Texas Blackland Prairies. During Spring, Summer, and Fall, the plant produces white blooms. After blooming, it produces green, turns red when ripe. Small and very hot pepper. It provides essential nectar, shelter, or forage for native wildlife, including Bees, Birds, and Nectar Insects. Best suited to caliche, clay, limestone, loam, moist, and sand, Chile Pequin adapts seamlessly to local soil conditions. It requires minimal supplemental water and tolerates dry spells with ease. It offers high deer resistance.
