Red Yucca

Thriving across the Edwards Plateau, Red Yucca (Hesperaloe parviflora) is an enduring evergreen succulent prized in water-wise native landscapes. It features distinctive dark olive green foliage. During Spring and Summer, the plant produces pink, red blooms. After blooming, it produces seeds black to 3 cm. Deer browse the foliage, while the flowers attract hummingbirds. Thriving in calcareous, dry, limestone, rocky, sand, and well drained, Red Yucca demonstrates outstanding hardiness once established. It requires minimal supplemental water and tolerates dry spells with ease. It offers high deer resistance.
