Native across the Chihuahuan Deserts, Gulf Coast Prairies and Marshes, Texas Blackland Prairies, and Western Gulf Coastal Plain, Obedient Plant (Physostegia virginiana) thrives in local conditions while supporting the surrounding ecosystem. During summer and fall, the plant produces pink, purple flower clusters. Flowering is followed by nutlets that add vibrant visual contrast and seasonal interest. Hummingbirds, Butterflies. Thriving in clay, limestone, moist, poor drainage, and sand, Obedient Plant demonstrates outstanding hardiness once established.
